Context : a school focused on the future

The International Higher School of Montreal (ESIDEM) presents itself as much more than an educational institution : it is a springboard to the future. The institution trains “the talents of tomorrow” with programs that combine expertise and adaptability to the realities of the job market. This innovative and individualized approach is part of ESIDEM’s mission : to train a qualified workforce, skilled in the latest techniques and practices to meet the needs of the Quebec job market.

Personalized welcome for the school year

For its school year start, ESIDEM wanted to offer its new students a warm and modern welcome. Aware that first impressions matter, the school opted for several digital display devices to replace traditional banners with a more immersive and informative solution.

LED screens placed in strategic locations

The chosen solution relied on totem-type LED screens, which stand out for their vertical format and high brightness. The team organized three complementary configurations :

• At the entrance of the building, a vertical screen welcomed students. Tall and narrow, it displayed welcome messages, practical information, and guided newcomers to their classrooms. This device effectively replaced static panels by immediately capturing attention with animations and easily comprehensible pictograms.

• In the welcome speech room, two screens of the same format were positioned on either side of the podium. They projected visual aids during presentations: program introductions, testimonials from former students, and reminders of the school’s values. Their symmetrical placement framed the scene and created a true digital backdrop for the ceremony.

• In common areas, other totems continuously displayed schedules, building access cards, and motivational messages. They served as a guiding thread for students, directing and reassuring them throughout the day.

Integration and impact

The screens were integrated into a sober design in harmony with ESIDEM's visual identity. Their height and slimness allowed them to be installed without obstructing pathways, while providing a comfortable reading surface. Thanks to centralized content management, the teaching team was able to adapt messages in real-time based on the day's events.

The result met expectations : students felt welcomed and oriented upon arrival, and the welcome speech gained clarity thanks to the visual support. The choice to replace traditional banners with LED totems reinforced the image of an innovative school attentive to the quality of the student experience.
